My students' creative writing novel for 5th graders...
Only a Matter of Time
The Blue Lake 5th-graders set my Creative Writing students a challenge: write a novel for them that included 12 items they cooked up for us. Those items included the Bermuda Triangle, a sleepover, a missing person's file, a UFO, and time travel to the Titanic. We did it! Those 5th-graders are currently reading Only a Matter of Time, our 200 page epic that my students and I created together (and published with funding from Stetson University's Nina B. Hollis Fund for Education Reform), and Friday we will go on a field trip to present to our readers about the writing of the book! Andrea gets to be my second chaperon, which makes it even better! What an awesome way to wrap up a school year!
